Training

With Anita's knowledge and varied experience she enjoys training horses and ponies of all sizes and shapes.

Anita is available for:
- starting youngsters
- ground work
- building solid basics
- working with difficult / problem horses
- fine tuning the seasoned horse
- preparing for the show ring
- preparing for sale
Anita tries to customize each training program to suit the horse and owner to achieve the best results. Space is limited so please inquire for rates and availablity.

Lessons

With Anita's extensive and knowledgeable riding background, she offers lessons to all ages and abilities in dressage and jumping.

Whitaker Stables is an "A" Circuit Show Barn, we also compete at the Silver and Gold Dressage series shows.

Lessons take place in either the 120 x 60 indoor arena or when weather permits the 150 x 60 sand ring. There are many jumps available for use. Lessons can be on your own horse or one of our stable mounts.Those that are seeking to improve their equitation skills are who we serve best. Students are encouraged to compete, but this is not a requirement.

As part of your regular riding routine, we expect all female riders to wear a hair net while riding. After every ride all tack (inlcuding the bit) needs to be wiped down and cleaned.

The arenas are also available for rental, please inquire for more information and rates.

Off-Property Showing

Looking towards the 2012 show season Whitaker Stables will be only showing the Silver and Gold Dressage series as well as the "A" Circuit for the Hunter/Jumpers.

Boarding

Whitaker Stables offers only a few stalls for boarding.
Please inquire to be placed on our waiting list.

The amenities include:
- large and roomy stalls, approx 10 x 10
- attached 120 x 60 indoor arena
- heated veiwing room
- heated tack room with lockers
- 170 x 60 outdoor sand ring
- large fields and paddocks for regular turnout
- run-shelters for 3 of the paddocks
- acres of forested trails for a hacking
- the Rail Trail is also located close by
- individual feed plan for each horse
- blankets / boots adjusted
- outside coaches permitted
- centrally located, 20 minutes from Port Elgin,
Kincardine and Walkerton
